Job Description

Role & responsibilities 1. Supply Chain Management Oversee the entire supply chain process, from procurement to final delivery. Develop strategies to optimize supply chain operations. Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. 2. Transportation & Distribution Plan and manage logistics, transportation, and delivery schedules. Optimize transport routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Ensure compliance with transportation laws and regulations. 3. Inventory & Warehousing Monitor inventory levels and maintain stock accuracy. Implement efficient warehousing strategies to minimize storage costs. Ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of goods. 4. Cost Management & Budgeting Develop and manage budgets for logistics and transportation. Identify cost-saving opportunities in supply chain operations. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and logistics providers. 5. Compliance & Risk Management Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and legal standards. Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions. Implement policies for quality control and loss prevention. 6. Team Leadership & Coordination Supervise logistics and warehouse staff. Provide training and development programs for team members. Collaborate with other departments like procurement, finance, and sales. 7. Data Analysis & Reporting Use logistics software and data analytics to improve operations. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery times, costs, and efficiency. Generate reports to assess and improve logistics performance. 8. Technology Integration Implement logistics management software (LMS) for better tracking and automation. Stay updated with emerging logistics technologies (AI, blockchain, IoT). Enhance digital tracking for real-time shipment monitoring. Skills Required for a Logistics Manager: Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Negotiation and communication skills. Knowledge of logistics software (SAP, Oracle, TMS). Ability to analyze data and optimize processes. Leadership and team management skills. Preferred candidate profile 1. Educational Qualifications Bachelors Degree (Required) in: Logistics & Supply Chain Management Business Administration Transportation Management Operations Management Industrial Engineering 2. Certifications (Preferred but Not Mandatory) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) – APICS Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution (CLTD) – APICS Lean Six Sigma Certification – Process Improvement Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) – ISM International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) Diploma – For global logistics 3. Work Experience 3-5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or transportation management. Experience in warehouse management, procurement, distribution, or freight operations . Familiarity with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or TMS (Transportation Management System) . Strong knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance laws (for international logistics). 4.
