Role & responsibilities Developing and Implementing Fire Safety Plans: Creating comprehensive fire safety plans tailored to the specific needs and layout of the hospital. This includes evacuation plans, fire prevention strategies, and emergency response procedures. Conducting Regular Safety Inspections: Performing routine checks of all hospital areas to identify and mitigate potential fire hazards. This includes inspecting fire safety equipment like extinguishers, alarms, sprinklers, and emergency exits to ensure they are in working order. Training and Education: Organizing and conducting fire safety training sessions for hospital staff. This training covers the use of fire safety equipment, evacuation procedures, and actions to take in case of a fire. Ensuring that all employees are aware of their roles during an emergency is crucial. Liaising with Local Fire Services: Working closely with local fire departments to ensure the hospital's fire safety plans are aligned with local regulations and standards. This may include coordinating drills and facilitating inspections by fire safety professionals. Maintaining Records: Keeping detailed records of fire safety inspections, drills, maintenance of fire safety equipment, and training sessions. This documentation is vital for compliance with fire safety regulations and for continuous improvement of fire safety practices. Investigating Fire Incidents: In the event of a fire, leading the investigation to determine the cause and implementing measures to prevent future incidents. Analyzing fire incidents is crucial for learning and enhancing fire safety measures. Compliance and Risk Assessment: Ensuring the hospital complies with all local, state, and federal fire safety laws, codes, and standards. This involves conducting regular risk assessments to identify areas of improvement in the hospitals fire safety protocols. Acting as a key coordinator during fire emergencies, ensuring that evacuation and other emergency procedures are executed smoothly and effectively. Providing expertise on fire safety for the design and construction of new hospital facilities or renovations, ensuring that new structures meet fire safety standards. Support the Institution in its new initiatives, overall growth Initiate and drive mock drills To participate in Hospital Committees as assigned and contribute towards the aims and objectives of the committee Preferred candidate profile Diploma in Fire & Safety 5+years of relevant experience Agility to learn quickly and adopt to change Drive for closure, Relationship management Analytical ability and problem-solving skills Team Leading skills
