Role Overview:
The Finance Manager will lead the financial operations of the R&D organization, which operates as a standalone legal entity within a global automotive group. This role combines financial reporting and controlling responsibilities, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and strategic alignment with corporate objectives. The position requires strong leadership, analytical skills, and the ability to partner with R&D and corporate teams to drive financial performance and operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings, including provisions, amortization, and accurate
- expense booking.
- Prepare and present MIS reports and dashboards to management, including variance analysis and actionable
- insights.
- Coordinate with auditors for statutory audits, ensuring timely completion and compliance with regulatory
- requirements.
- Prepare annual financial statements and facilitate board and auditor sign-off.
- Review and submit monthly GST returns; manage GST audits, refunds, and compliance.
- Handle provisional tax calculations and liaise with consultants for accurate filings.
- Ensure timely submission of annual income tax returns and regulatory surveys.
Controlling & Performance Management:
- Lead budgeting and forecasting exercises for CAPEX and revenue, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor receivables and payables, conduct ageing analysis, and implement measures to maintain optimal working capital.
- Drive cost control initiatives and monitor OPEX and CAPEX utilization. Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making for R&D investments and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management and ensure accurate reporting.
- Asset & Internal Control Management.
- Manage Fixed Asset Register (FAR), including capitalization, asset tagging, and CWIP status reviews.
- Ensure robust internal controls and lead internal audits through to closure of audit remarks.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Accounting Standards, Taxation, and Compliance of Indian and other regions.
- Expertise in MIS, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
- Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial planning
- Experience in Capex & Opex management and inventory control. Advanced Excel, Power BI and ERP system skills; SAP experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
