Job Description

Role & responsibilities

1. Financial Controls & Governance

  • Develop, implement, and monitor financial control policies across all salons.
  • Ensure adherence to SOPs related to billing, cash handling, discounts, and refunds.
  • Conduct periodic audits (surprise and scheduled) at outlets to ensure financial discipline.
  • Identify gaps in financial processes and implement corrective actions.

2. Revenue Monitoring & Reconciliation

  • Oversee reconciliation of daily sales from POS systems (Zenoti/Slick/other).
  • Validate billing accuracy, service entries, packages, memberships, and discounts.
  • Track cash deposits, UPI/card settlements, and ensure timely bank reconciliation.
  • Highlight and resolve revenue leakages or mismatches with Operations & Accounts teams.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Planning

  • Assist in preparing annual budgets and business forecasts for each outlet.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analysis for new salon launches, promotions, and offers.
  • Monitor performance against budget and highlight variances to management.
  • Provide financial insights to support pricing strategies and resource planning.

4. Cost Control & Expense Management

  • Establish strong controls for inventory usage, ordering, and wastage.
  • Review purchase orders, stock reports, and consumption patterns regularly.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction across operations, procurement, utilities, and payroll.
  • Validate vendor bills and ensure the accuracy of expense allocations.

5. Compliance & Audit Management

  • Ensure all statutory compliance: GST, TDS, PF/ESI, and other regulations.
  • Support internal and external audit processes with required documentation.
  • Maintain accurate records for regulatory and tax submissions.

6. Coordination with Finance, Operations & HR

  • Collaborate with Accounts Team to ensure proper accounting and reporting.
  • Work with Operations to standardise processes and minimise financial risks.
  • Support HR with payroll cost control, attendance monitoring, and overtime validation.
  • Serve as the financial point of contact for outlet managers and department heads.

7. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare financial control dashboards, variance reports, and audit reports.
  • Track KPIs like average bill value, occupancy, service-to-retail ratio, and revenue per stylist.
  • Provide management with insights for decision-making and operational improvements.

Preferred candidate profile:

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree in Finance, Commerce, or Accounting (B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance).
  • 6–12 years of experience in finance, audit, or compliance roles.
  • Experience in retail, hospitality, or salon/spa industry preferred.
  • Strong command of financial controls, auditing, GST/TDS, and MIS reporting.
  • Proficiency in Tally, Excel, and POS software (Zenoti/Slick/etc.).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce discipline.
