Roles and Responsibilities: Supervise and direct the team, ensuring the following for US and India entities: 1. Month-end and year-end closing: Perform critical financial entries, including depreciation, prepaid charge offs, lease amortization, loan interest accrual, and expense provisions to ensure accurate financial reporting. 2. Bank reconciliation: Conduct periodic reconciliation of bank statements to ensure all transactions align with financial records. 3. Corporate card expense management: Review, reconcile, and account for corporate card expenses, ensuring proper documentation, payments, and settlements. 4. Option payments oversight: Maintain and review option payment schedules, scrutinize agreements, and coordinate with development teams for project status updates and banking details. 5. Interconnection payments and refund accounting: Track and manage interconnection payments, review refundability clauses, verify interest calculations, and follow up on pending refunds. 6. Accounts payable (AP) management: Scrutinize invoices, validate supporting documents, coordinate approvals, maintain an AP schedule, and process payments through banking platforms. 7. Accounts Receivable (AR) monitoring: Oversee automated invoicing for specific projects, review for accuracy, and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding payments beyond credit terms. 8. Regulatory compliance and Tax Billings: Review corporate tax filings (India and US), GST/TDS Bilings, payroll taxes, and statutory labor law compliance, ensuring timely submissions. 9. Financial documentation and reporting: Ensure proper accounting treatment, maintain compliance records, and support audits by providing necessary financial data and reconciliations. Soft skills: • Organized individual with good time management skills to meet multiple deadlines • Self-starter who can work independently as well as lead internal and external/partner teams. • Sound problem-solving, decision-making skills. • Good attention to details and analytical skills Education and Experience: Must haves: • Chartered accountant - Semi-Qualified / IPCC / Inter. • Minimum 3-4 years experience in accounting/finance. • Must be based only in Chennai • Must have worked for a US company in F&A for at least 2 years. • Proven experience with Financial reporting requirements and compliances. • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills. Good to have: • Experience with NetSuite is an added advantage. • Previous experience with Energy company. • Well versed in Indian compliances like GST, Income tax, Transfer pricing.
