Job Description

Role Summary:

The role involves identifying prospects, building strong customer relationships, conducting product demonstrations, and achieving sales targets by delivering value-based solutions to contractors, infrastructure companies, rental houses, and government bodies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Generate new leads and maintain a healthy sales pipeline within the assigned region.
  • Conduct market visits to meet contractors, builders, government departments, and equipment rental companies.
  • Present and promote backhoe loaders and related construction machinery to potential customers.
  • Prepare and deliver product demonstrations highlighting technical features, performance, and ROI benefits.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to close deals in line with company guidelines.
  • Ensure achievement of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.

2. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build strong, long-term customer relationships through regular follow-ups and after-sales engagement.
  • Understand customer needs and recommend suitable machine configurations or attachments.
  • Facilitate smooth coordination between customers, service teams, and dealership support.
  • Handle customer concerns and resolve issues to ensure high satisfaction levels.

3. Market Intelligence

  • Gather and report competitor activities, market trends, pricing insights, and customer feedback.
  • Identify new potential areas, emerging industries, and project opportunities.

4. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of visits, inquiries, quotations, and sales in CRM systems.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales performance reports.
  • Support tender documentation and Government/PSU sales processes when required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Automobile, or related engineering field.
  • 15 years of experience in construction equipment sales (backhoe loader experience preferred).
  • Strong technical understanding of construction machinery, hydraulics, and machine performance parameters.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and basic CRM tools.
