Job Overview: The Field Recruiter will be responsible for sourcing, recruiting, and managing the hiring process for various field-based roles within the logistics and transportation sector. This role demands strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in fast-paced environments, and a thorough understanding of the logistics industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in recruiting for field-based positions and be capable of managing high-volume recruitment for roles like truck drivers, crane operators, logistics coordinators, and other essential operational staff. Key Responsibilities: 1. Collaborate with Hiring Managers: Work closely with department managers and team leads to understand job requirements, qualifications, and performance expectations for open positions in the logistics sector. 2. Travel & Field Recruitment: Must be able to travel to various cities, towns, and company sites as required to meet recruitment needs in different regions, including visiting trailer/crane parking bays, brokers, and other company sites. 3. Sourcing & Talent Acquisition: Identify, source, and engage potential candidates for various logistics roles, including truck drivers, crane operators, helpers, logistics coordinators, and operational staff such as loading and unloading clerks. 4. Attend Networking & Recruitment Events: Participate in job fairs, industry-specific events, and local networking opportunities to connect with prospective candidates. Visit local brokers, conduct campus recruitment, and build relationships with key industry contacts to identify qualified candidates. 5. Interact with Drivers and Operators at Parking Bays: Build relationships with truck drivers, crane operators, and other field-based employees at trailer/crane parking bays and other logistics hubs. Collect feedback and references from current employees, leveraging their network and experience to identify qualified candidates for open positions. 6. Screening & Candidate Evaluation: Review resumes and conduct initial phone screenings to assess candidates qualifications, skills, and cultural fit. Ensure that candidates align with the company's values and the specific job role requirements. Organize and facilitate in-person interviews, including assessments and skill evaluations for various logistics positions. 7. Candidate Communication: Provide candidates with clear information about job responsibilities, compensation packages, benefits, and company culture. Ensure transparency throughout the recruitment process to maintain a positive candidate experience. 8. Onboarding & Compliance: Ensure new employees complete all necessary documentation, including background checks, drug testing, and employment paperwork, in compliance with company policies. Collaborate with the HR team to facilitate a smooth onboarding process, including providing new hires with the necessary training, equipment, and documentation for their roles. Required Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field (preferred). Experience: Proven experience as a recruiter or talent acquisition specialist, preferably within the logistics, transportation, or related industries. Familiarity with field-based roles and the unique challenges of recruitment in the logistics sector, such as seasonal hiring or specific skill sets required for operational roles. Skills: Strong knowledge of recruitment tools, job boards, and social media platforms for sourcing talent. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to build relationships with candidates and hiring managers. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet recruitment targets in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently and prioritize recruitment activities. Physical & Travel Requirements: Travel: Frequent travel to various cities, towns, and logistics sites will be required, including attending job fairs, recruitment events, and visiting industry contacts. Fieldwork: Ability to work in outdoor or industrial environments such as trailer/crane parking bays, warehouses, and transportation hubs.
