FED Design

As a Fuel Equipment Design Engineer at Babcock Power, your role will involve being the subject matter expert on the full design of fuel system and combustion equipment supply, with a specific focus on natural gas delivery systems and gas-fired low NOx combustion technology for wall fired and T fired boilers in the industrial and electric utility space. **Key Responsibilities:** - Serve as the lead design engineer on projects, developing Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDS) for complete natural gas delivery systems. - Design, specify, and select appropriate equipment for responsible systems, including natural gas filtration, pressure reduction, flow control equipment, burners system components, and auxiliaries. - Collaborate with other engineering groups as a cross-functional resource to meet project requirements. - Provide proposal and sales support through customer presentations, consultative technical guidance, and project financial estimates. - Author field test procedures and reports, leading service teams during fuel system commissioning, burner, emissions performance optimization, and acceptance testing programs. - Produce and deliver technical content at conferences, while actively networking within the industry. - Develop and maintain existing engineering standards for equipment sizing and performance predictions. **Qualifications Required:** - Bachelor of Science Degree in either Mechanical or Chemical Engineering. Master's degree in mechanical or chemical engineering preferred. - Eight (8) or more years of experience in the power or related industry. - Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. - Strong analytical and computer skills, including proficiency in Word and Excel. - Organized and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and respond quickly to requests. - Willingness to travel, with 10% domestic travel and occasional international travel to support project requirements.,
