📢 Job Opening: Ocean Import Pricing (Navi Mumbai) Job Overview: Responsible for taking care of Ocean imports pricing and look after customer service and operations escalations. Leading team, and handling escalations related to imports pricing, customer service & Operations. Negotiate rates from the Shipping Line/Overseas agents for optimize profitability. Timely and effective quoting of prices for Sea Imports Shipments. Timely response to customer queries on rates, issues, updates and developing relations with the customer for proposing other services verticals. Demonstrates strong negotiation abilities and excels in relationship-building with carriers and agents, maintaining a firm grip on bookings and capacity management. Dedicated to the development and expansion of ocean import as a product, overseeing budgeting, and ensuring departmental profitability to drive regional growth and success. Customer Retention. Pricing: Negotiate Rates with Carriers for Ocean imports. Coordinate with various agents, and shipping lines for the best available Freight always. Coordinate with overseas agent and the principals for pricing. Obtain the best rates with sufficient margins of profit Provide timely response to inquiries relating to job costing, shipment status, revisions and invoices from agents. Maintain SOP and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings/services/carriers Develop and interpret overseas partner rate agreements for customs clearance requirements, documentation needs, rates competitiveness and quality of service for our clients. Oversee audits of vendor invoices (vs. negotiated rates) and routing accuracy to ensure company profitability. Assist with the settlement of disputed charges on vendor invoices. To ensure that the quote is approved by Customer/Agent and the same is documented. Ensure Zero Operations / Co-ordination failure. To obtain KYC of all Customers. Customer Service: Handle freight pricing for ocean imports trades, including rate analysis, market rate knowledge, cost structures, and trade goals. Coordinate and manage all customer service activities. Define and implement error-free processes, procedures, and work instructions for customer service. Collaborate with the team to accomplish daily tasks efficiently and effectively. Work with the Customer Service Team to manage import shipments (both free-hand and nominated) and support accounts handled by Sales/Marketing teams. Coordinate with Documentation, Accounts, and Operations Teams to manage shipments. Train the Customer Service Team on handling import shipments. Ensure accurate KYC data entry, including PAN number, credit period, and rebates (FAC). Provide timely and accurate responses to emails and telephone inquiries, offering efficient support to stakeholders. Coordinate and correspond with home/overseas agents and carriers. Resolve overcharge issues at transit points to destination. Keep all departments and ICDs updated on destination charges and agent information. Distribute essential notices to departments and ICDs. Address and resolve issues at ICDs and branches. Maintain reports on sales volume and projections, presenting them at weekly/monthly meetings. Monitor and review profit and loss with the Route Development Manager or Reporting Manager and obtain necessary approvals to resolve overcharge issues. Track and record uncleared shipments, ensuring customer notifications are handled professionally and deliveries are made promptly. Provide support to sales personnel from job initiation to shipment closure as assigned by the Reporting Manager. Perform any other tasks as directed by the Reporting Manager. This will involve conducting extensive market analysis across all sectors to identify pricing opportunities and market trends. You will also analyze price lists of carriers and benchmark competition offerings to develop competitive bidding strategies. Developing and implementing pricing strategies to optimize volume distribution across carriers and increase sales volume will be a key part of your role. You will need to establish and maintain a strong rapport with carriers to negotiate better rates and secure higher priority booking slots. Collaboration with customers and marketing personnel is essential to ensure smooth shipment execution and client satisfaction. Your duties will also include timely and effective quoting of prices for Ocean Export Shipments, as well as responding promptly to customer queries on rates, issues, updates, and developing relations with customers for proposing other services verticals. Independently managing RFQs and biddings processes for various regions will be part of your responsibilities. You will be expected to regain inactive business accounts and generate new volume by effectively managing customers. Consistent follow-up with customers on shared rates to convert inquiries into business and ensure customer retention will also be crucial for this role.,
