Job Description

FARM MANAGER 1. Responsible for monitoring all aspects of a farms operations. They may be involved in everything from planting and harvesting crops to caring for Livestock, purchasing supplies, and managing employees. 2. Manage a team of farm workers, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and providing feedback and training as needed. 3. Monitoring supervisors and providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure they are performing their jobs effectively. 4. Responsible for supervising and delegating tasks to supervisors. 5. Training supervisors, share the reasons why procedures must be performed correctly not just what to do or how to do it. 6. Ask them to review and suggest changes that improve the functions 7. Analysing existing operations, crops, livestock, staff, financial documents and recommend improvements. 8. Preparing plans & schedules for planting & harvesting and ensuring staff productivity with respect to different duties assigned. 9. Developing and implementing new farming techniques to improve yields or sustainability of crops over time. 10. Keeping a track of health and safety of farmworkers and other staffs. 11. Managing relationships with vendors and suppliers. This might include negotiating prices on supplies or equipment, reviewing contracts, and making sure that everything arrives as expected. 12. Take advices from senior officers on any changes that will make more effective. 13. Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies are regularly restocked. Marketing the sale of products produced on the farm like fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat. 14. Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff members. 15. Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports. 16. Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
