Farm Manager (Intensive Berry Production)

As the Farm Manager at Plantopia Farms Pvt Ltd, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the sophisticated berry operations in Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu. Your main focus will be on ensuring high-volume, high-quality production of blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. Your role will involve a combination of technical expertise and critical managerial responsibilities to achieve operational efficiency and yield targets. Key Responsibilities: - Operations & Technical Management - Develop and execute comprehensive annual and seasonal production plans - Oversee and optimize substrate hydroponic systems for peak plant health - Directly manage climate control and energy usage for optimal growing conditions - People & Resource Management - Recruit, train, and manage a diverse team of supervisors, technical staff, and farm laborers - Create and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for critical farm activities - Manage operational budget, control costs, and oversee inventory for consumables - Quality, Health, & Innovation - Implement and lead Integrated Pest and Disease Management (IPDM) program - Monitor post-harvest quality management procedures to meet premium market specifications - Drive farm efficiency through new technologies and horticultural techniques Qualifications Required: - Minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in high-value horticultural production - Demonstrated expertise in commercial production of berries within controlled environments - Expert-level knowledge of substrate hydroponic growing principles - Proven ability to lead and manage large farm teams effectively - Strong organizational skills and experience in developing SOPs, budgets, and quality control systems - Bachelors or Masters degree in Horticulture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or related field Highly Desired: - Experience managing production systems with climate control or protective structures - Familiarity with farming in subtropical/high-altitude areas - Certification or specialized training in IPM or sustainable agriculture practices,
