Job Description

Role & responsibilities - Responsible for organizing and executing medical programs and routine checks, handling incidents and conducting health-related trainings at the Lote site, in order to ensure a healthy and safe working environment at the site Preferred candidate profile - Medical Programs Planning & Organizing 1. Schedules, coordinates and executes the periodic medical examination at the site 2. Schedules, coordinates and executes the special biological tests for Special Medical Fitness at the site 3. Provides the required support for conducting pre-employment medical exmaination of GCL employees and declaration of medical fitness after completion of medical evaluation 4. Conducts bi-annual health evaluations of the workforce. Maintains and updates Electronic Health Record (EHRs) for all employees 5. Handles day to day management of the Occupational Health Centre (OHC) along with the paramedics Routine Checks 1. Responsible for identification of occupational health hazards at the plant across various shop floors 2. Performs fortnightly work-place inspection survey and canteen hygiene check as directed 3. Performs periodic review and check of medical health records 4. Performs periodic review and check of oxygen availability and ambulance availability at the site Incident Management 1. Attends to health-related accidents / incidents at the site and ensures timely and effective resolution 2. Coordinates with and provides the required support to local secondary and/or tertiary medical care facilities for major incidents and emergency medical services Training 1. Schedules, coordinates and conducts health & wellness awareness trainings on various topics such as lifestyle diseases, prevention of occupational health hazards, importance of using PPEs etc., as directed 2. Trains employees from other departments to ensure that at least 10% of manpower is able to administer first aid 3. Provides the required coordination and logistical support for health-related trainings by external faculty Liaisoning 1. Coordinates with BRGH for medicine procurement in a timely and effective manner 2. Coordinates with local secondary and tertiary medical care facilities for emergency medical services Personal Development & Team Support 1. Undertakes trainings and individual development activities based on performance feedback received and for upskilling 2. Supports team members / intermediaries in delivering their responsibilities and resolves their concerns / challenges, if any
