Role & responsibilities:
The Factory Operations Manager will be responsible for managing the complete manufacturing, production, and operational flow of the prefab unit ensuring efficient production, timely deliveries, quality compliance, and seamless coordination between the factory, site, and management teams.
The role demands a strong technical background in prefabricated or modular construction, proven experience in factory floor supervision, and the ability to lead a team to meet daily, monthly, and annual production goals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production & Operations Management
Plan, organize, and oversee daily factory operations including production scheduling and resource allocation.
Supervise fabrication, panel assembly, insulation, and finishing activities to ensure adherence to project specifications.
Monitor production timelines, output quality, and cost efficiency.
Ensure proper coordination between design, estimation, site, and dispatch teams.
Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) across departments for smooth workflow.
2. Inventory & Procurement Control
Manage inventory levels, raw material inflow, and stock utilization efficiently.
Maintain accurate records for material usage and wastage tracking.
Coordinate with purchase and accounts teams for timely procurement and cost control.
3. Quality & Compliance
Ensure all products meet technical, quality, and safety standards.
Oversee inspection, testing, and approval of prefabricated components before dispatch.
Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards within the factory premises.
4. Team & Workforce Management
Supervise factory staff, production workers, and supervisors.
Assign responsibilities and ensure team discipline and productivity.
Conduct regular team briefings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
5. Coordination & Reporting
Work closely with project managers and site teams for production scheduling and delivery timelines.
Report daily production summaries, targets, and issues to senior management.
Coordinate with logistics for on-time dispatch and delivery of prefab units.
6. Systems & Process Improvement
Set up proper operational systems for production tracking, quality monitoring, and workflow automation.
Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Contribute to budgeting, planning, and cost-saving strategies.
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Education: Diploma or Bachelors degree in Civil / Mechanical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
Experience: Minimum 4 years of experience in Prefab / Modular / Precast / Structural Steel Fabrication industry.
Strong understanding of prefab production methods, insulation materials, and assembly techniques.
Proficient in AutoCAD (basic drafting) and familiar with structural interpretation.
Must have handled factory workforce and production teams directly.
Excellent coordination, communication, and leadership skills.
Hands-on, proactive, and result-oriented professional.
