Estimation Engineer

Key responsibilities

• Cost estimation:

  Prepare detailed cost estimates for all MEP components, including labor, materials, and equipment, using estimation software and tools.

• Bid proposal development:

  Create comprehensive bid proposals, highlighting cost breakdowns and ensuring they align with project specifications.

• Project analysis:

  Study and interpret tender documents, Request for Quotations (RFQs), and project drawings to understand project scope and requirements.

• Bill of Quantities (BOQ):

  Quantify project resources by preparing accurate Bills of Quantities from drawings and specifications.

• Supplier coordination:

  Float inquiries to suppliers, evaluate their quotations, and negotiate technical and commercial aspects.

• Value engineering:

  Conduct value engineering studies to reduce project costs without compromising quality, based on client budget constraints.

• Reporting and documentation:

  Prepare cost estimation reports for management and stakeholders and maintain accurate costing databases and records.

• Market monitoring:

  Monitor market trends and pricing to ensure cost estimates are competitive and accurate.

• Compliance:

  Ensure all work complies with relevant local building codes, industry standards, and regulations.
