Job Overview : As a Medical Equipment Service Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and effective operation of medical devices and equipment within healthcare settings. You will conduct routine maintenance, diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations. This role requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of medical equipment and its function within patient care environments. Key Responsibilities : Installation and Setup : Install, configure, and calibrate medical equipment according to manufacturer specifications. Ensure all equipment is operating within required technical standards upon installation. Maintenance and Repairs : Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on medical equipment to ensure proper functionality. Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, replacing defective parts as necessary. Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts replacements. Compliance and Safety : Ensure that all medical devices and equipment meet regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, IEC). Conduct regular safety inspections and tests to ensure equipment is functioning safely and in compliance with healthcare regulations. Training and Support : Provide training to healthcare staff on the proper use of medical equipment. Offer technical support to medical personnel in diagnosing issues and resolving operational problems. Documentation and Reporting : Maintain accurate records of service reports, equipment history, and maintenance schedules. Document any problems, service issues, or new issues for future reference and analysis. Customer Service and Communication : Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals to understand equipment issues and provide timely solutions. Act as a liaison between the equipment manufacturer and the healthcare facility, coordinating repair services or technical advice when necessary. Inventory Management : Monitor and manage the inventory of spare parts, tools, and accessories for medical equipment repairs. Ensure that necessary parts are ordered and restocked in a timely manner. Troubleshooting and Diagnostic Skills : Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify faults and perform effective repairs. Provide accurate troubleshooting reports and suggest cost-effective solutions. Skills : Strong understanding of medical equipment operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and software for medical equipment. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
