Epic Reporting and BI Analyst

Key Responsibilities

• Report Development & Management:

  Design, develop, and maintain reports, dashboards, and extracts utilizing Epic reporting tools, focusing heavily on Epic Caboodle and Epic Cogito.

• Data Modeling & ETL Support:

  Apply strong proficiency in data modeling principles and assist with ETL processes within the Epic Caboodle data warehouse to ensure data integrity and accessibility.

• Application & Workflow Support:

  Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) for Epic systems, providing essential support to clinicians and end-users, resolving technical challenges, and optimizing workflows across various modules (including

  Epic Cadence

  ,

  Epic Willow

  , and

  Epic Ambulatory

  ).

• Incident & Problem Resolution:

  Act as the primary technical point of contact for complex Epic-related issues, efficiently diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving incidents, and escalating complex problems to senior teams as per defined procedures.

• Collaboration & System Integrity:

  Collaborate closely with IT, data analysts, and clinical stakeholders to maintain the integrity, availability, and optimal performance of all reporting and Epic applications.

• Change Management:

  Participate actively in system upgrades, enhancements, and configuration changes, ensuring minimal disruption and adherence to ITIL service management practices (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).

• Documentation & Training:

  Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledge base articles to enhance service desk efficiency and provide effective training and guidance to end-users on Epic best practices.

• Performance Monitoring:

  Proactively monitor system and report performance, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact clinical or operational workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

  Bachelors degree in healthcare informatics, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical work experience.

• Experience:

  Minimum of

  2+ years of hands-on experience

  working with Epic Systems in a support, analyst, or reporting capacity.

• Epic Data Proficiency:

  Strong, demonstrable proficiency in

  Epic Caboodle

  and

  Epic Cogito

  , including experience with data extraction, data modeling, and developing BI reports.

• Module Understanding:

  Familiarity with core Epic clinical and access modules, such as

  Epic Cadence

  ,

  Epic Willow

  , and

  Epic Ambulatory

  , and their associated data structures.

• Technical Skills:

  Experience with

  SQL queries

  for data retrieval and manipulation. Familiarity with reporting tools and business intelligence platforms is a distinct advantage.

• Communication:

  Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to interface effectively with clinicians, technical IT teams, and business stakeholders.

• Troubleshooting:

  Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues within the Epic environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications:

  Active

  Epic certifications

  in relevant modules (Caboodle, Cogito, or related clinical/access modules) are

  highly preferred

• Domain Knowledge:

  Experience working within a healthcare IT setting or supporting a clinical service desk.

• Compliance:

  Understanding of healthcare compliance and privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).

• Tools:

  Knowledge of IT ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow or Jira).
