About the Role Barry Callebaut Digital (BC Digital) is on a mission to lead the digital revolution in the chocolate industry, and we are looking for an experienced Enterprise Architect (Azure Cloud Platform) to support this transformative journey. You will be responsible for shaping the digital architecture to solve business needs focusing on platform services including our cloud environment and on-premise datacenters. In addition, you will ensure that our systems architecture is aligned with our business objectives, while developing and communicating strategic architecture target pictures and technology roadmaps. You will additionally provide oversight and guidance on the technical aspects of development and integration, ensuring that pertinent technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices (including security measures) are appropriately implemented. As an Azure Cloud Architect with expertise in Cloud Native technologies, you will take the lead in defining and overseeing the architecture of our IT applications on Azure cloud-based and on-premises platforms. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our cloud landscape is coherent, stable, high-performing, and cost-efficient, all while aligning with our enterprise architecture principles. This role is crucial as we expand our use of Azure cloud and hybrid platforms within our application ecosystem. Responsibilities Develop the enterprise architecture strategy and target picture for our platform services with special focus on our Azure cloud environment and on-premise datacenters. Architectural Leadership: Join the Cloud Services team, where you will work closely with a group of Technical experts to translate business and IT strategy needs into scalable and secure cloud solutions. Your work will involve designing new cloud building blocks, writing new standards, and providing architectural oversight, ensuring that the solutions developed align with our enterprise goals. Create and communicate architecture plans and blueprints, that align with the organizations business goals. Provide support on the technical aspects of solution development and integration, while considering policies, standards, and practices including security measures. Platform Optimization: Continuously assess and improve the performance and cost-efficiency of our platforms. Propose and validate targeted enhancements, ensuring that our technology landscape evolves to meet emerging business needs. Establish and enforce architectural governance and ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Support the solution design team evaluating the business mission and ensuring that IT assets are leveraged effectively. Facilitate architecture-related discussions and decision-making processes fostering effective communication and collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders. Quality Assurance: Validate the technical deliverables of our partners, ensuring that they meet our quality standards. Work closely with external partners to ensure that all outcomes are aligned with our technical requirements. Evaluate and select technology services providers and third-party solutions in collaboration with relevant stakeholders and management. Develop visual representations of the system architecture models. Experience with Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning, ensuring systems are resilient, with strategies in place for rapid recovery and minimal disruption in case of failures. Evaluate existing IT systems for weaknesses and identify improvements and mitigations. Support the implementation of the strategic roadmap of BC Digital. Oversee platform maintenance and installation activities from an architectural viewpoint. Review architectural designs and proposals. Carry out risk and problem analysis, create technical specifications and support the implementation of security measures and standards. Collaborate with the broader Enterprise Architecture community and lead the development of cohesive architecture principles and guidelines across the organization, sharing insights, best practices, and ensuring alignment with overall enterprise architecture standards and frameworks. Analyze industry trends and emerging technologies to ensure state-of-the-art architecture standards. Expert Architecture experience in MS Azure technologies: Azure cloud governance and Azure landing zones. Azure experience and knowledge of IAAS and PAAS configurations. Experience with Terraform and Infrastructure as code. Concepts and methods of cloud environments (private, public or hybrid cloud, IaaS, ...). Architecture patterns, best practices and standards. Security: Zero Trust Architectures, Azure AD, SSL 1.2 and encryption methods. Architect & solution design of cloud native applications. Qualifications Graduate degree in IT/technology, data, computer science, engineering, or a comparable field. Proficient in English. Required Skills Minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience as a Solution Architect, Enterprise Architect or similar. Effective communication skills: Regularly achieve consensus with peers, and clear status updates. Certifications in MS Azure solution design, architecture is desired. Deep knowledge of digital Azure platforms, including cloud and datacenter operations, infrastructure management, data architecture and integration. In-depth knowledge of Azure services such as Azure VMs, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database and Azure SQL PaaS, Azure Active Directory, and others. Experience with Azure DevOps, including pipelines and release management, Azure Automation. Demonstrated ability to lead architectural discussions, design scalable solutions, and manage complex cloud projects. Knowledge of building, configuring, managing and supporting platform solution technologies and solutions incl. best practices. Understanding of roles, processes and technologies around platform solution management incl. related trends. Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks, e.g. TOGAF, Zachman.
