Overview The quality of school education available to students from low-income communities across India is abysmal. Their chances of getting admitted to a college or building a career are much lower than their high-income peers, condemning them to a life without voice or choice. iTeach was born to declare war on this status quo and create a level playing field for ALL children. We do this in Pune and Navi Mumbai by co-creating contextual school models with Municipal Corporations. We run 12 free and high-impact secondary schools and a college-to-career program for the most disadvantaged students. In 2024, with a staff of 300 members across 12 schools, we will serve 4500 students and 3000 alumni - giving students a fighting chance at college, career, and citizenship. We aim to grow to 30 schools and 10,000 students over the next five years. Key Responsibilities: A teacher at iTeach Schools wears multiple hats to ensure an excellent education for their students. The three different parts of the role are: Teaching your subject (60% time) Teach one or two subjects of your expertise to your class Conduct regular tests and assessments to monitor learning and give feedback to students Build a positive and strong school culture with a focus on learning and joy Collaborate with parents of the students through regular meetings to ensure their active involvement Mentoring students (20% time) Mentor nearly 15-20 students throughout the year Develop ways to ensure that these students have strong study habits, high attendance, and the drive to excel - share these plans with all teachers across the ecosystem Help with school projects (20% time) Collaborate with Senior Teachers to implement school projects such as Hobby Clubs, Career Awareness, Annual Day, Sports Day, etc Use these opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills and mentor new teachers Prerequisites Required: B.Ed/D.Ed with more than 60% Preferred: CTET (Paper 1 or 2) / MH-TET Preferred: Bachelors Degree with strong academic and holistic performance Preferred: Teaching experience in a secondary grade for 1-2 years
