Engineering Lead

Key Responsibilities1. Fixture Design & Tooling

• Lead the design and development of machining, welding, inspection, and assembly fixtures.
• Ensure fixtures meet accuracy, repeatability, safety, and ergonomic standards.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams for fixture trials, validation, and improvements.
• Standardize fixture design practices to reduce cycle time and cost.

2. SPM (Special Purpose Machines)

• Conceptualize, design, and implement SPMs for automation and productivity improvement.
• Prepare machine layouts, functional specifications, and design reviews.
• Coordinate with vendors for SPM manufacturing, FAT, SAT, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot SPM issues related to mechanical, process, or sequence failures.

3. Process Engineering

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, operation sequences, and work instructions.
• Conduct cycle time studies, line balancing, and capacity planning.
• Implement process improvements (Lean, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke) to improve efficiency and quality.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities.

4. Assembly Engineering

• Define assembly processes, layouts, and tooling requirements.
• Support assembly line setup, pilot builds, and mass production ramp-up.
• Address assembly-related quality issues and drive corrective actions.
• Improve ergonomics, safety, and productivity in assembly operations.

5. CAM Programming

• Lead CAM programming for CNC machining operations.
• Optimize tool paths, cutting parameters, and cycle times.
• Support prove-out, first-off approval, and machining process stabilization.
• Ensure proper documentation of CNC programs and revision control.

6. Team Leadership & Coordination

• Lead and mentor design, process, and CAM engineers.
• Allocate tasks, track progress, and ensure on-time project delivery.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams: Production, Quality, Maintenance, SCM, and Vendors.
• Participate in technical reviews and management reporting.

Skills & CompetenciesTechnical Skills

• Strong knowledge of fixture design principles
• Hands-on experience in SPM design & implementation
• Process engineering & assembly line development
• CAM software (Mastercam / NX CAM / PowerMill / similar)
• Understanding of CNC machining, GD&T, and manufacturing tolerances
• Exposure to Lean Manufacturing and automation concepts

Software Tools

• CAD: SolidWorks / NX / AutoCAD / Creo
• CAM: Mastercam / NX CAM / PowerMill
• MS Excel, PowerPoint, basic project tracking tools

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹858,175.70 - ₹1,720,640.95 per year
