Job Description

In this role, You will work with the product and business counterparts to create business impact by creating world class Data Accelerators product. You will lead teams focused on delivering world class products and platforms that help in rapidly deploying solutions for data engineering problems. Responsibilities Technical Guidance Influence: You will lead a cross-functional team of Architects, Managers, Technical Leads Software Development Engineers (SDEs). As a leader, you will play a crucial role in building the culture, motivating the team and bringing the best practices across all of these functional areas to build the best products, make complex design decisions and the hands-on ability to lead by example. Set the long-term tech vision for the products tech with impact across divisions. Involve in creation of strategy, translate it into sub-unit objectives and guide the team in planning implementation. Play a key role in driving change in important areas. Define, evangelize and help institutionalize best practices and processes across product areas, divisions organization. Actively interface with the others in the industry to identify and drive operational excellence standards at Ada. Deeply understand the overall company business, factors affecting it (legal, financial, compliance), evolve tech landscape and consistently demonstrate good judgement on areas of investment and influence management decisions and processes. Business Smarts Strategic Thinking: Solid understanding of business PL, industry constraints and opportunities to get competitive advantage using technology. Provide thought leadership to shape priorities through deep knowledge of internal and external factors. Create avenues for innovation, long-term systemic thinking and ecosystem impact in the department across all units. Influence and lead change across his / her unit and department. Create and communicate business vision and the tech roadmap for the division to the team and articulate business and tech plan, choices, constraints to Business, Product Engg stakeholders counterparts. Propose strategic investments and drive new initiatives that have substantial business/PL impact. Identify and solve for gaps in tech capabilities of the company. e.g. formulation of new teams/divisions, build/buy choices. Identify new investment areas and set up relevant teams by defining a vision and a business case for it. Agility, Focussed Execution and Delivery: Deliver consistently on high business impact areas and support the sub-unit by building execution rigor to deliver impact. Accountable for the business success, architecture, design, execution, delivery, quality, scalability and limitations of the systems and products in scope. You will be expected to instill and follow good software development practices and ensure timely delivery of high-quality products. You should be familiar with agile practices as well as be able to adapt these to the needs of the business, with a constant focus on product quality. Set stretch targets and hold self and team accountable for high-quality impactful outcomes while driving the team to evaluate and improve existing systems and processes. Review progress of work and proactively plans for upcoming risks. People Management, Org Building Leadership: Align teams, anticipate and build a long-term strategy and set high-performance standards. Build effective, motivated and empowered teams and attract top talent. Anticipate and resolve potential conflicts through an adaptive leadership style. Develop senior leaders for the future and be a great coach for the team. Demonstrate experience in hiring, retaining and scaling diverse, geographically dispersed, high-performing teams. Proven experience influencing strategy and driving change across org boundaries through clear and compelling communication of data-driven insights and analyses. Hire and coach other leaders. Actively scout the talent market to identify, make selling/hiring pitches to key candidates and attract top talent to Ada. Articulate Adas tech choices, product and vision in internal and external forums. Institutionalize best practices that reinforce Adas culture in the company. Stakeholder Management Collaboration: Demonstrate and build a collaborative culture within and across units. Nurture cross-organization relationships and build relevant external networks. Influence large groups across the organization to align on appropriate trade-offs and achieve desired outcomes Understand emerging market opportunities and their business impact. Collaborate closely with cross-functional leaders to ensure that the products we build will delight our customers; this includes working closely with product managers, designers, engineering leaders, and stakeholders in other business departments. Authoritatively represent business and tech context in stakeholder meetings and work with business product to identify potential business problems to solve with tech. Work effectively across divisions and departments, negotiate conflicts with tact and arrive at decisions. Identify gaps patterns in business processes product areas in the division and propose tech solutions/design to solve for them. Desired Skills and Requirements Strong understanding of both frontend and backend technologies, data engineering and data pipelining, open-source development, object-oriented programming, concurrency and fundamentals of computer science. Experience with design architectures implementing highly distributed, hybrid cloud deployments, and on-premise-to-cloud migration deployments. Good understanding of large-scale computing solutions, infrastructure, security, and application development. Proven ability to adapt, champion and institute good practices and tools. Knowledge of multiple technology stacks/languages/tools and their pros/cons. Experience developing distributed horizontally scalable robust products platforms in an iterative agile manner with high quality. Proven ability to architect build products from scratch. Ability to push through despite road-blocks and resource constraints. Experience working collaboratively with Product, Business and Go-to-Market teams, guiding data-influenced product and business planning, prioritization and strategy development. 10+ years of relevant experience with a minimum of 6 years managing high performance teams of engineers including managerial leads. Possess strong interpersonal skills the ability to build mentor. BTech/MTech degree in Computer Science or related field Note - We also highly value experience working in a startup or smaller product-focused organization, contributions to open-source, tech blogs and tech forums.
