Engineer - Supply Chain Management - PED

Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION As a Supply Chain Management Engineer, you will be responsible for managing the entire procurement process, from receiving and reviewing technical specifications to issuing purchase orders and monitoring deliveries. You will work closely with the project team to ensure the timely delivery of materials and equipment and maintain a good relationship with suppliers and vendors. To excel in this role, you should have strong project planning, communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Responsibilities: Receive and review technical specifications and drawings provided by the Engineering team and discuss them with the Engineering team if necessary. Determine and search for suitable manufacturers and suppliers for materials. Prepare technical and commercial inquiry documents and float them to approved vendors. Follow up with vendors to ensure timely quotations submission and avoid delays. Review and evaluate quotations received from vendors and prepare comparisons. Negotiate with vendors to obtain the best price, discount, delivery, payment terms, and other commercial conditions. Represent procurement team in meetings with project engineers and suppliers to finalize the technical and commercial aspects of the order. Review and implement all procurement policies and procedures. Prepare and issue purchase orders in accordance with the selected vendors, prices, and technical specifications. Send purchase orders to suppliers and follow up on the production schedule, drawings, and technical documents for approval. Monitor and follow up on deliveries and production status with logistics and vendors. Evaluate vendors and search for new manufacturers and stockiest worldwide. Skills and Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering, or related field. 2-3 years of Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management. Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills. Experience with SAP, comparing quotations, documentation, and delivery management. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Good relationship management skills. Strong influencing and team management skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Areas of Expertise Professional Skills - Experience of Raw Material procurement, Sheet, Plate, (MS/CS/SS/LAS/Duplex) - Experience of Flanges/Forgings/ Fittings/ Hardware/Gasket procurement (MS/CS/SS/LAS/Duplex) - Basic knowledge of ERP System.
