Job Description

Work on multiple categories of projects like (but not limited to): -New Product Development -Product Upgrade & Improvement -Feature Enhancement -Migration to & from other regions -Product Quality improvement ACCOUNTABILITY CLUSTER MAJOR ACTIVITIES Product development Working with different regions for New Product Development, Existing product Enhancement & Upgrades (Vitreous China _ Toilets) Understand region specific requirements and validation as per applicable standards Aligning and leading the Engineering activities as per project schedule Working on product design and supporting procurement & manufacturing to derive product cost Generation and maintenance of product design histories, and development cost estimates, and test documentation Must demonstrate capability to handle multiple projects at a time. Ability of problem solving, fault analysis, root cause analysis. Continuously work for process improvement, involve in setting up / expansion of required infrastructure - product test labs etc. Design guidelines, BOM, Test standard Evaluating the technical feasibility of new product concepts or potential modifications to existing products. Performing Root Cause Analysis for field / customer feedbacks & devise an improvement strategy till implementation. Creating and maintaining the necessary documentations for products (PCI, BOMs, Drawings, verification reports etc.) Design Software - Creo Preparation of CAD models, assemblies, drawings, and documentation needed to define the product design. Maintaining awareness of relevant product technologies and improving technical skills KEY INTERACTIONS Internal External Head - VC Product Engineering Manager - VC Product Engineering Deputy Manager - VC Product Engineering Asst Manager - VC Product Engineering Sr. Engineer - VC Product Engineering Marketing & Program Management Sourcing & Suppliers Plant / Manufacturing Industrial Design Quality Lab & Testing SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE State the minimum acceptable proficiency for this job . Do not state incumbent-specific information EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & RELEVANT EXPERIENCE Bachelor s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 2~3 years of experience in Consumer Facing Products. Experience in similar industry or vitreous products is an added advantage SKILL SET New Product Development : Must have experienced the new product development process (Kickoff to Launch) Design : Must have basic understanding of product design and critical parameters CAD : Must have working experience of CREO (modeling, surfacing, 2D) Basic understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack up Must understand and contribute to DFMA, DFMEA Design, development and manufacturability of plastic, ceramic, sheet metal and rubber components Effective communication and presentation skills PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS & BEHAVIOUR Team Player : Should be able to work in a cross functional environment Communication : Should be able communicate across the cross functions & leaders effectively Ethical & Respectful : Must be ethical and respectful towards other associates and the organization Flexibility : Must be open to work on different projects (NPD/VAVE/Innovation/Quality)
