Engineer- Fire and Life Safety

As a Plumbing & Fire Protection Engineer at WSP, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of commercial and residential buildings. Your responsibilities will include: - Undertaking technical reviews, peer reviews, and checks to contribute to the design process - Providing continuous feedback on the effectiveness of protocols and processes for continuous improvement - Participating in project meetings, team meetings, and communicating with other teams - Identifying and addressing potential risk issues in accordance with company processes - Managing delegated tasks to ensure deadlines are met and flagging resourcing concerns - Identifying and flagging additional fees to senior engineers Key Competencies / Skills: - Experience in Plumbing & Fire Protection design for commercial and residential buildings - Proficiency in fixture load calculations, pipe pressure drop calculations, and pipe sizing for water and fire protection systems - Ability to prepare Plumbing and Fire equipment schedules, layouts, and schematics - Familiarity with relevant codes and standards such as ASHRAE, ISHRAE, ASPE, IPC, and NFPA Desired Skills: - Proficiency in heavy computation for pipe sizing and knowledge of cold & hot water systems - Experience with Revit MEP software for 3D modeling and coordination Qualifications: - B.Tech / B.E. in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering About Us: WSP is a leading professional services consulting firm with a global presence.
