Engineer - Backend (Java)

Job Description

At PayPal, Backend Software Engineers are the architects of our global payment platform. Youll design, develop, and optimize core systems that power millions of transactions daily, directly impacting our customers experiences and our companys success. Your day-to-day As a Senior Software Engineer - Backend, youll design and implement backend solutions. Youll collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products. - Design and develop scalable backend systems. - Optimize system performance and reliability. - Mentor junior engineers. What Do You Need To Bring A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent combination of technical education and work experience. 4 years or more of software development experience, with a strong emphasis on Java, including experience with the Spring Framework. A deep understanding of object-oriented design, and functional programming paradigms. Experience working with large-scale, highly available, and distributed systems. Experience developing automated unit, integration, and functional tests, preferably in a Java environment using tools like JUnit, Mockito, or Spring Test. Proficiency in using Maven as a build and dependency management tool. Experience designing and developing RESTful web services. An understanding of Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) concepts, with experience in using build and deployment tools to streamline and automate the development lifecycle. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with large-scale, high-performance systems. - Experience building Ads platform / Loyalty Platform - Knowledge of the payment processing industry and relevant regulations. - Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP,)
