Job Description

About the Role:

You will be responsible for the stability of a high-scale outbound engine sending 100,000+ emails daily across many domains, where deliverability is no longer marketing ops but true infrastructure. At this scale, any failure in authentication, domain reputation, list quality, volume patterns, or template structure—even for 30 minutes—can lead to Gmail blocking all sends, domains getting burned, client performance collapsing, and trust being destroyed. We need someone who can own this entire layer end-to-end, combining technical operations, domain engineering, and messaging quality to keep the system healthy and performant.

You will own:

Domain setup → Authentication → List hygiene → Copy quality → Volume orchestration → Continuous monitoring


Top Responsibilities

1. Domain & DNS Ownership

You must be able to configure, debug, and maintain:

  • SPF
  • DKIM
  • DMARC
  • BIMI
  • Reverse DNS
  • Domain pools/subdomains
  • Authentication alignment across platforms

2. Volume Engineering at Scale

  • Plan and execute warm-ups
  • Define safe throttling rules
  • Orchestrate daily send volumes
  • Maintain healthy sending patterns for

    100k+/day

  • Prevent domain poisoning and reputation drops

3. Data & Monitoring

  • Inbox placement testing
  • Interpret Gmail Postmaster Tools
  • Analyse bounces, complaints, and reputation signals
  • (Bonus) Ability to write basic SQL or Python for diagnostics

4. List Hygiene

  • Enforce validation
  • Maintain suppression lists
  • Keep bounce rate consistently

    <2%

  • Remove spam traps and risky segments

5. Template & Copy Quality

You must understand how language, tone, structure, links, CTAs, and HTML formats

Non-Negotiables

- Experience managing high-volume outbound (50k–250k/day)

- Deep, practical understanding of SPF/DKIM/DMARC

- Experience with monitoring & validation tools

- Experience with high-volume ESPs

- Ability to work independently and protect entire domain ecosystem

- Strong pattern recognition with Gmail behavior

Do NOT apply if you:

  • Only worked in HubSpot/Marketo campaign ops
  • Only write email copy
  • Only know general email marketing
  • Never managed >10k/day
  • Have no DNS/domain experience
