Position Overview: ELV Project Engineer To oversee the planning, design, installation, and commissioning of Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) systems for construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring they meet client specifications, safety standards, and project timelines. Roles and Responsibilities: 1. Project Management & Coordination: Lead and coordinate the installation of ELV systems (security, fire alarms, CCTV, access control, etc.) across various projects. Develop project schedules, timelines, and cost estimates for ELV system installations. Oversee the entire lifecycle of the project from concept to completion, ensuring the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. Work with subcontractors, suppliers, and other teams to ensure smooth project execution. System Design & Engineering: Participate in the design and engineering of ELV systems as per project specifications, requirements, and local regulations. Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and clients to integrate ELV systems into the building design. Review technical drawings and schematics, ensuring designs are accurate and align with project goals. Installation & Commissioning: Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of ELV systems, including CCTV, fire alarms, access control, and public address systems. Ensure compliance with safety standards and codes during installation and testing. Verify that systems are working as per the specifications and provide technical solutions to resolve issues. Quality Assurance & Control: Monitor the quality of workmanship during installation, ensuring all work meets safety and technical standards. Conduct inspections and audits to ensure that systems are properly installed and functioning. Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate project documentation, including drawings, installation reports, and system manuals. Prepare progress reports, site reports, and any necessary documentation for clients and upper management. Assist in the preparation of "As-Built" drawings and final project documentation. Client Interaction: Communicate with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure their requirements and expectations are met. Provide technical support and guidance to clients and team members. Maintenance & Support: Assist with the maintenance of ELV systems after installation, providing troubleshooting support and system upgrades as required. Ensure that maintenance schedules are followed and that systems continue to meet performance standards post-installation. Team Management: Supervise and manage junior engineers and technical staff, providing guidance and support as needed. Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure integration of ELV systems with other building systems (e.g., HVAC, electrical, etc.). Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of various ELV systems, such as CCTV, fire alarm systems, PA systems, access control, lighting control, and data networks. Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software for system layout and design. Knowledge of local codes and international standards for ELV systems (e.g., NEC, IEC, etc.). 5-10 years of experience in managing or engineering ELV systems in construction or infrastructure projects.
