Job Description

As an Electromagnetic Designer at Cell Propulsion, you will be part of a dynamic engineering team focused on designing and developing advanced motor systems with a specific emphasis on electromagnetic design and analysis. Your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to create high-performance, efficient, and reliable motor systems for various applications. Key Responsibilities: - Design and optimize electromagnetic systems for advanced motor applications, specifically linear systems. - Conduct electromagnetic simulations and analyses to evaluate designs and propose improvements for 3-phase motor systems and high-power DC electromagnets. - Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers to integrate electromagnetic designs with overall system requirements at different levels. - Develop and validate electromagnetic models for motor components and assemblies. - Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in electromagnetic design and motor technologies. - Participate in the entire product development lifecycle from concept to production, ensuring designs meet or exceed performance, cost, reliability, and manufacturability requirements. - Document design work, provide technical reports, and deliver presentations. - Support the troubleshooting and resolution of electromagnetic-related issues in existing products. Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field. - Minimum of 2 years of experience in electromagnetic design, preferably in motor or related systems. - Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools such as ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, and COMSOL. - Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory and its application in motor design. - Experience in designing for manufacturability and knowledge of production processes. - Knowledge of thermal management in high-performance motors. - Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. - Strong communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in the automotive or aerospace industry. - Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to motor design. - Project management experience.
