Role & responsibilities We are seeking a skilled and innovative Permanent Magnet and Electromagnet Designer to join us. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in electromagnetics, magnetic material design, and hands-on experience in designing and optimizing permanent magnet systems and electromagnets. This role will involve collaboration with R&D, product development, and manufacturing teams to develop advanced magnet systems for applications in [aerospace, medical, automotive, energy, etc.]. 1. Job Role and Responsibilities: - Design and Development : Develop permanent magnet and electromagnet systems for specific applications, focusing on performance, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. Design magnetic circuits, optimize magnetic field strength, and minimize losses. Use analytical tools and simulation software (e.g., Ansys Maxwell, COMSOL, CST, or similar) for electromagnetic modeling and analysis. Material Selection : Select appropriate magnetic materials (e.g., NdFeB, ferrites, Alnico) based on application requirements. Evaluate the thermal, electrical, and mechanical properties of materials for design optimization. Testing and Prototyping : Collaborate with the prototyping team to build and test magnet assemblies. Conduct performance tests, measure magnetic field strengths, and troubleshoot issues. Collaboration : Work closely with cross-functional teams such as mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineers to ensure seamless integration of designs. Communicate with suppliers to source specialized materials and components. Documentation : Create detailed design documentation, including 2D/3D drawings, specifications, and BOMs. Maintain project reports and technical design reviews. 2. Skills & Experience Key Skills : Strong understanding of magnetostatics, electromagnetism, and hysteresis curves. Experience with material characterization and performance testing. Knowledge of thermal management and mechanical integration for magnetic systems. Familiarity with manufacturing processes for magnet systems, such as sintering, machining, and assembly. Additional Skills : Problem-solving and analytical thinking. Strong communication and team collaboration skills. Project management experience is a plus. Experience : Minimum 3 years of experience in designing permanent magnets and electromagnets . Proficiency in electromagnetic simulation tools. 3. Qualifications: Education : Bachelors or Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Microwave engineering or related fields with a focus on electromagnetics. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in designing magnetic systems for specific industries such as [medical imaging, electric vehicles, wind turbines, etc.]. Knowledge of international standards and regulations related to magnets and electromagnets. Familiarity with automation systems or robotics integration involving magnetics.
