Desired Qualification & Experience Bachelors / Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering. 7-10 years in thermal power plants. Roles and Responsibility/ Duties to be performed. Conduct electrical testing for generator system and switchyard system and all plant electrical protection system. Coordinate with other electrical maintenance teams like generator, transformers, switch yard and provide feedback based on electrical tests conducted. Ensure compliance with safety requirement. Plan resource requirements for electrical testing - manpower and materials. Network with other electrical maintenance teams in the plant to capture learning. Maintain equipment wise records and documentation e.g Failure History. Procurement and indenting for materials and spares. Functional Competencies: Knowledge of electrical testing methods for generator and switchyard maintenance includes primary and secondary test. Technical knowledge of electrical machines and equipment (e.g. generator, motors, transformers, switch gears, relays). Interpretation of test result and forecasting of future remedial action. Understanding of working and history of equipment. Knowledge of upgraded standard operating procedures with respect to maintenance of main plant, transformers, switch yard and coal handling plant. Knowledge of safety requirements and environmental aspects. Knowledge of power generation process. Knowledge of vendors for testing equipment. Knowledge of statutory guidelines related to electrical equipment.
