Electrical Estimator

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed and accurate electrical estimates for commercial and residential projects.
• Review drawings, specifications, and scope of work to determine project requirements.
• Validate and analyze costs to ensure competitiveness and profitability.
• Source and obtain pricing from multiple vendors and suppliers to secure best value.
• Estimate and plan underground wiring, trenching, and conduit installation with proper material and labour allowances.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to align with project goals and timelines.
• Track material and labour costs, update pricing databases, and maintain cost records.
• Review and assess tender documents, RFQs, and change orders.
• Prepare clear, concise, and well-documented estimates and proposals for client submission.

Required Skills & Capabilities

• Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator in commercial or residential projects.
• In-depth knowledge of underground electrical systems and trenching/conduit layouts.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with vendors and clients.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred).

• We use GroundsPlan for take-offs and measurements, and SimPRO for cost estimation, budgeting, and project setup.

• Experience with either or both tools will be considered an added advantage.
