Job Description

Core Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and Planning:
  • System Design: Designing the overall power system, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), power distribution plans, and control systems for the DG sets.
  • Equipment Sizing and Specification: Performing calculations to appropriately size generators, transformers, switchgear, breakers, cables, and earthing systems.
  • Layouts: Preparing detailed electrical layouts for equipment placement, cable routing, and control rooms using design software like AutoCAD or Revit.
  • Documentation: Creating detailed technical documentation, reports, specifications, and project plans for all electrical aspects of the DG line.
  • Installation and Commissioning:
  • Supervision: Overseeing the installation of all electrical equipment and systems to ensure conformance with design specifications, industry standards (e.g., IEEE, IEC, NEC), and safety regulations.
  • Testing and Validation: Designing and conducting testing methods (e.g., Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), pre-commissioning loop checks) to confirm the functionality and capability of components and the entire system before full operation.
  • Integration: Ensuring seamless integration and synchronization of the DG sets with the main power grid or existing plant network.
  • Operations and Maintenance:
  • Preventive Maintenance: Developing and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules and procedures for all electrical equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving complex electrical faults and issues in operational systems to ensure continuous power availability.
  • Monitoring: Monitoring system performance, power consumption, and quality metrics (e.g., power factor, harmonics) to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Emergency Response: Managing emergency power systems, including regular testing of DG sets to ensure they start up and sync correctly during a power outage.
  • Safety and Compliance:
  • Standards Adherence: Ensuring all operations and installations comply with local, national, and international safety codes and environmental regulations.
  • Risk Management: Conducting risk assessments, implementing proper grounding, earthing, and lightning protection systems, and ensuring arc flash safety measures are in place.
  • Training and Audits: Training technicians and operators on safe electrical practices and participating in regular safety audits and inspections.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹500,000.00 per month
