Electrical Design Engineer

At Varistor Engineering, we are committed to delivering innovative and efficient solar energy solutions. The Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for solar projects, including rooftop and ground-mounted installations. The role involves preparing detailed designs, layouts, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:1. Electrical System Design

• Design and develop complete electrical systems for solar PV projects (both grid-connected and off-grid).
• Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and detailed wiring layouts using AutoCAD or equivalent software.
• Conduct cable sizing, inverter selection, and protection system design as per IEC/IS standards.
• Optimize system design for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.

2. Technical Analysis & Simulation

• Perform generation and performance analysis using PVsyst, Helioscope, or similar tools.
• Evaluate system losses, voltage drops, and shading impacts to ensure maximum output.
• Assist in feasibility studies and energy yield assessments.

3. Documentation & Compliance

• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), technical datasheets, and project documentation.
• Support in preparing documentation for tenders, approvals, and interconnection applications.

4. Project Coordination

• Collaborate with civil and structural teams to integrate electrical designs with mounting structures.
• Provide design support during installation, testing, and commissioning stages.
• Coordinate with vendors and clients to ensure technical alignment with project requirements.

5. Quality & Innovation

• Ensure that all designs follow safety and quality standards.
• Participate in R&D initiatives to enhance system efficiency and reduce project costs.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology, components, and design standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in solar PV system design. or Fresher can also apply
• Software Skills: AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Excel, and related electrical design tools.
• Technical Knowledge:
• Strong understanding of solar PV systems, electrical load calculations, and earthing systems.
• Familiarity with inverters, cables, protection devices, and grid interconnection requirements.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to project timelines.
