Job Purpose

Environment, Health, Safety and Quality (EHSQ) systems

Creating and maintaining a safe, compliant and efficient workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

For Officer / Executive Level

  • Conduct regular plant inspections to monitor unsafe conditions and behaviors
  • Create safety awareness through toolbox talks and training sessions
  • Ensure proper implementation of

    work permit systems

  • Monitor and ensure the effective use of

    PPEs

  • Maintain and check

    fire hydrant and firefighting systems

  • Assist in development and implementation of

    safety procedures and SOPs

  • Support in conducting internal audits and safety assessments
  • Report, record and investigate incidents / near-miss cases
  • Maintain safety documentation and compliance records

Additional Responsibilities for Manager Level

  • Monitoring and improving

    Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) systems

  • Establish, implement and continually improve ISO systems:
    • ISO 9001
    • ISO 14001
    • ISO 45001 (earlier OHSAS 18001)
  • Lead

    EHSQ-related projects and system improvements

  • Manage audits Internal, External, Statutory & Certification
  • Coordinate with external agencies, regulatory bodies & auditors
  • Review EHSQ performance metrics and initiate corrective actions
  • Drive

    digitalization / software implementation

    for EHSQ monitoring
  • Lead person for statutory compliance and reporting
  • Conduct and monitor EHSQ trainings across departments
  • Support top management in developing EHSQ policies and strategies

Educational Qualification

Officer / Executive Level:

  • B.Sc (Chemistry) / B.E./B.Tech (Chemical) / Related discipline
  • Diploma in Industrial Safety

    (Mandatory)
  • P.G. Diploma in Fire & Safety (Preferred)

Manager Level:

  • Graduate / Chemical Engineer
  • Advance Diploma in Industrial Safety
  • Certified Internal Auditor (Preferred)
  • Exposure to TQM, ISO systems & Process Industries (API/Pharma/Chemical)

Experience Required

  • Officer / Executive:

    1-7 years in EHS / Safety / Environment role
  • Manager:

    8-12 years of EHSQ / Safety / Compliance / Systems experience (Experience in Chemical / Pharma / API / Manufacturing preferred)

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of

    EHS systems & statutory requirements

  • Experience in

    ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 implementation

  • Knowledge of

    Fire safety, chemical safety & emergency response

  • Risk Assessment & Hazard Identification (HAZOP/JSA)
  • Safety Audits, Training & Documentation
  • Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Leadership & Team Coordination (for Manager)
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making
  • Planning, Organizing & Accountability
