Job Description

Key Responsibilities: 1. Risk Management and Compliance: Identify, assess, and recommend measures to mitigate workplace risks. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, including statutory requirements for fire safety, property, and environmental standards (KSPCB, BBMP, MOEF, etc.). Oversee safety equipment maintenance, including FAPA systems, fire hydrant systems, and fire panels. 2. Health, Safety, and Environmental Programs: Implement and monitor HSE protocols such as Work Permit System, Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Lead safety operations in cases of natural calamities and emergencies. 3. Training and Awareness: Organize and conduct training sessions for Emergency Response Team (ERT) members and site personnel. Prepare annual schedules for fire drills, conduct pre-drill briefings, and ensure statutory approvals from police and fire departments. 4. Incident Management: Investigate workplace incidents, conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and suggest corrective actions. Prepare reports for incident analysis, including major incident reviews and 5Y analysis for mitigation. 5. People and Resource Management: Supervise the HSE teams shift schedules, deployment, and training. Oversee procurement of safety equipment and ensure alignment with budget requirements. 6. Annual Shutdown and Maintenance Activities: Prepare Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) for annual shutdowns and ensure all safety measures are in place. Ensure waste disposal (hazardous, e-waste) complies with statutory requirements. 8. Reporting and Reviews: Provide updates and insights on HSE matters in monthly reviews, statutory reports, and year-end presentations for senior management. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): • Uptime of fire safety equipment. • Compliance with technical documentation and statutory schedules. • Completion of AMC and PPM tasks. • Timely submission and review of HSE reports. Qualifications and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, or Environmental Science (preferred). • Minimum of 5 years of experience in HSE management or a related field. • Proven track record in incident management, team training, and compliance.
