Job Summary: The Senior Editor Social Science (K8) is responsible for developing, reviewing, and refining high-quality educational content for K8 social science curricula. This role involves overseeing content creation, content development, ensuring alignment with curriculum frameworks and maintaining editorial excellence. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of social science pedagogy, strong editorial skills and experience in school textbook publishing. Roles & Responsibility: Develop, review, and edit social science content for K8 textbooks, digital platforms and supplementary materials. Ensure content aligns with NCERT and ICSE syllabus. Collaborate with authors, subject matter experts, designers, and production teams to create engaging products. Conduct research to ensure content accuracy and relevance. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maintaining schedules and meeting deadlines. Provide guidance to freelancers and external contributors. Review and implement feedback from authors and reviewers. Stay updated on trends in social science education, instructional design, and technology integration. Qualifications & Experience: Masters degree in History, Political Science, Geography, Education, or a related field. 3+ years of editorial experience in K8 educational publishing, preferably in social science. Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail. Familiarity with digital learning tools, multimedia content, and educational technology. Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems.
