As a Game Designer at Nukebox Studios, you will have the exciting opportunity to shape the gameplay mechanics, level design & balancing, economy design & balancing, new systems, and overall player experience of our upcoming projects. Your role will involve close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including artists, programmers, writers, and producers, to bring your creative vision to life. Your responsibilities will include developing and iterating on gameplay mechanics, level design & balancing, economy balancing, systems, and features to enhance player engagement. Working with multidisciplinary teams, you will design, prototype, and implement game features that align with the project's creative vision. Additionally, you will create and maintain detailed design documentation, balance gameplay elements for a satisfying difficulty curve, and analyze player feedback and industry trends to refine game mechanics and systems. Furthermore, you will contribute to narrative design by integrating gameplay mechanics with storytelling elements, participate in brainstorming sessions to enhance overall game design, and stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve your design skills. To be successful in this role, you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in game design roles, with a proven track record of designing and shipping F2P games. A strong portfolio showcasing your design work on released games is essential, demonstrating your ability to craft engaging gameplay mechanics and systems. Expertise in designing for various genres, platforms, and gameplay styles, as well as proficiency in industry-standard design tools like Unity or Unreal Engine, are required. Moreover, you should possess an in-depth understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and user-centered design principles. Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills are crucial, along with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in a collaborative environment. Leadership and mentoring experience, with a passion for fostering the growth of junior team members, will be beneficial in this role.
