Dy Mgr/Asst. Manager Mechanical Incharge, Scrap Processing Plant

Scrap charge enhancement is a key enabler to meet our Sustainability Goals. Accordingly, JSW Steel forayed into Steel Recycling & is setting up its 1st Scrap Processing plant in Khopoli, Maharashtra for supply of quality, steel scrap to the Steel Melt Shops.The project execution is underway. This role will be critical in driving the project erection & commissioning activities and managing plant mechanical maintenance subsequently.

Role Scope & Key Deliverables:

• Plan & Drive mechanical activities for the project commissioning, ensuring timely equipment deliveries & subsequent installations.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive maintenance plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)for plant mechanical systems, including effective planning and management of equipment spares.

Key performance Indicators-

• Finalize mechanical contracts required for timely commissioning of the NSL Project.
• Supervise erection & commissioning activities for Shredder and Baler.
• Ensure close coordination with OEMs to achieve on-time equipment delivery in line with plant commissioning timelines.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Projects, Liaison, Finance, Legal) to drive smooth and efficient project execution
• Troubleshooting of mechanical issues during equipment trials, stabilization, and ramp-up in coordination with OEMs.
• Drive team readiness and resource development for efficient mechanical maintenance during operations phase.
• Develop and implement cost-efficient maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability & uptime.
• Optimize costs & resources to ensure efficient plant operations aligned with the Annual Business Plan (ABP).
• Develop and implement the plants preventive maintenance (PM) plan and ensure implementation of PM module in the maintenance system. •
• Prepare SOPs for safe execution of mechanical maintenance activities.
• Plan & procure spares in alignment with the maintenance plan (TBM/CBM) to ensure availability and reliability.
• Maintaining Service records related to maintenance such as MTTR & MTBF analysis reports, RCFAs, Implemented KAIZENs, etc. •
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance mechanical system efficiency and operational reliability.

Competencies-

• Experience in Mechanical Maintenance of Heavy Machinery & related equipment
• Experience in Commissioning & Maintenance of Hydraulics and Lubrication Systems
• Experience in managing contracts & OEM relationships
• Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP etc
