Position - Quality Manager / Dy Manager Quality PDT/NPI. Department: New Product Development/Transfer Location - Bangalore. Qualification: BE/ BTECH Mechanical Engineering from Reputed Engineering college Certifications: Six Sigma Green/ Black, Internal auditor certification QMS, SPC/ SQC etc. Experience: > 12 Years Industry: OEM, Machine tool, fabrication Industry, Domain Expertise: Supplier quality management, Supplier evaluation & selection, Supplier relation management, vendor ratings, Prototype development, PPAP, QAP & Inspection Protocols Personal attributes: Analytical thinking, Decision making, stakeholder management & assertive communication. Job Summary: The Quality Manager New Product Development (NPD) is responsible for overseeing the quality aspects of new product development projects from concept through production. This role ensures that new products meet or exceed customer expectations and comply with industry standards and regulations. The Quality Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and marketing, to integrate quality into the design and development process. Key Responsibilities: Quality Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement quality plans for new product development projects. Establish quality objectives, metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for new products. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and marketing teams to ensure quality is built into the product design and development process. Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and project planning meetings. Product Testing and Validation: Develop and oversee product testing protocols to ensure new products meet quality standards. Coordinate and conduct product validation and verification activities, including prototype testing and pilot production runs. Regulatory Compliance: Manage the documentation and submission process for regulatory approvals. Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure the quality of materials and components used in new products. Conduct supplier audits and assessments as part of the NPD process. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving product quality and development processes. Implement lessons learned and best practices from previous projects into the NPD process. Customer Focus: Incorporate customer feedback and requirements into product development. Address and resolve quality issues identified during product launches and early production phases. Training and Development: Provide training and guidance to project teams on quality standards and practices. Foster a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the NPD team. Reporting and Documentation: Prepare detailed reports on quality performance, test results, and project status. Maintain thorough records of quality activities and findings throughout the NPD lifecycle. Qualifications: experience in quality management within new product development / From the well-known industry. Strong knowledge of quality control methodologies and tools (e.g., FMEA, PPAP, APQP). Experience with regulatory compliance and standards (e.g., ISO 9001, ISO 13485, etc.). Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Strong project management and organizational skills. Proficiency in quality management software and tools. Knowledge of SAP Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Working Conditions: Working closely with supply chain team to identify right suppliers Development of new suppliers according to the requirements of NPD/PDT/NPI Stakeholder management with respect to development activities Travelling to supplier site /visit for validation and development.
