Drone System Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Drone Hardware Engineer to join our team in building next-generation autonomous drones. You will play a key role in designing, integrating, and testing drone systems, working on everything from electronics and sensors to propulsion systems and communication interfaces. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of hands-on experience with drones , strong knowledge of drone hardware components, and a basic understanding of flight dynamics and backend integration using tools like ROS. Key Responsibilities Design and Integration Design, select, and integrate hardware components for UAVs (motors, ESCs, flight controllers, sensors, power modules, GPS, telemetry, etc.) Create wiring diagrams and ensure reliable electrical integration of all subsystems Evaluate different drone frames and configurations (quadcopter, VTOL, fixed-wing) Testing and Troubleshooting Conduct bench tests and flight tests to validate hardware configurations Troubleshoot and debug hardware issues in real-time Ensure proper calibration of IMUs, ESCs, GPS, barometers, and other sensors Flight Dynamics and Performance Understand and apply principles of aerodynamics, airspeed measurement, and propulsion system tuning Work with feedback from air velocity sensors and IMUs for performance tuning System-Level Integration Work with companion computers and microcontrollers (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Jetson, Teensy) Interface with backend systems using protocols like MAVLink Collaborate with software engineers integrating ROS/ROS 2 and autonomous flight systems Documentation and BOM Maintain accurate documentation for hardware configurations, wiring layouts, and Bill of Materials (BOM) Collaborate with procurement and fabrication teams for prototyping and production Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering , Aerospace Engineering , Mechatronics , or a related field Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience building or maintaining drones Strong knowledge of UAV components: flight controllers, ESCs, motors, sensors, GPS, telemetry, batteries, etc. Basic understanding of aerodynamics , air velocity , and drone stability control Familiarity with ROS (Robot Operating System) and MAVLink is a plus Experience with test equipment: multimeters, oscilloscopes, power analyzers Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on prototyping experience Preferred Skills Experience with 3D CAD tools (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks) for mounting or structural design Experience with PCB design (Altium, KiCad) is a bonus Knowledge of regulatory requirements and safety best practices for UAVs Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams (software, mechanical, aerospace) Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: ₹150,000.00 - ₹240,000.00 per year Schedule: Day shift Fixed shift Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: Performance bonus Ability to commute/relocate: Hyderabad, Telangana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) Application Question(s): Have you ever built your own drone?
