Role & responsibilities

  • Programming: Good Programming Skills using C# or VB.NET language
  • .NET Fundamentals: Good knowledge of .NET CLR (Assemblies, GC, Threading, Exception Handling etc)
  • UI Technologies: Candidates who possess Proficiency in UI Technologies (WPF/WinForms) have a distinct advantage.
  • Data Access Technologies: Candidates who have a grasp of Data Access topics, such as ADO.NET, ODBC, Entity Framework, and System. Data*, have an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code: Familiarity with the Visual Studio integrated development environment (IDE) and the lightweight code editor, Visual Studio Code (VSCode).
  • Understanding of Visual Studio features and views: A solid grasp of the various features and views available within Visual Studio IDE

Preferred candidate profile

  • This role is entirely a support role.
  • Provide technical support: Serve as a primary point of contact for customers seeking assistance with Visual Studio products. Analyze and diagnose complex issues, resolve problems, and answer inquiries through various support channels (phone, email, chat, forums, etc.) in a timely and professional manner.
  • Troubleshoot software issues: Investigate and reproduce reported issues in order to identify root causes. Utilize debugging tools, diagnostic techniques, and your expertise in software development to troubleshoot and resolve customer problems effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal teams: Work closely with other support engineers, software engineers, and product teams to escalate complex issues, share knowledge, and contribute to ongoing product improvements. Collaborate effectively across teams to ensure customer issues are addressed efficiently.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation: Develop and update support content, knowledge base articles, troubleshooting guides, and best practices to empower customers and improve the overall self-help experience. Contribute to internal knowledge-sharing platforms and help build a comprehensive knowledge base.
  • Provide customer feedback: Act as the voice of the customer by sharing valuable insights, feedback, and enhancement requests with the appropriate product teams. Advocate for customer needs and contribute to the continuous improvement .
  • Stay updated with technology: Keep abreast of the latest features, updates, and industry trends related to Visual Studio and software development tools. Continuously enhance your technical expertise through self-learning, training, and participating in relevant communities.
