Roles and Responsibilities Lead the team of Cost engineers & deliver calculations on-time to respective functions (Procurement, R&D, Projects, F&C) Validate cost calculations and Train team members to attain the required Costing expertize Drive the team to achieve preset KPI Targets Managing the Conflicts with Key stake holders during Target setting & Awarding process Ensuring estimation to projects / F&C for business case evaluation during the initial phase of project. Ensure the team to support R&D for design to target by analyzing the 3D/2D model and suggesting the right modelling during the initial design phase. Ensuring team in Participation and generation of ideas during VAVE workshops. Monitor and drive the Cost Reduction ideas within team until implementation. Monitor and ensure input factors updation like RM rates, MHR rates every year for the respective aggregate and commodity in calculation data base Ensure Team Participation in Benchmarking and competitor analysis for cost reduction activity. Ensure the team to Support R&D for design to target by analyzing the 3D/2D model and suggesting the right modelling during the initial design phase. Monitor Supplier RM and Process increase claims and support procurement to negotiate by providing measures Essential Knowledge: Hands on experience in Zero based costing of any below mentioned parts: Cabin parts - CIW, bumper, door system, interior & exterior parts. Chassis parts - Wheels, FBV, Couplers, Cooling modules Frame parts - long members, cross members, UPDs, Carriers Technical expertise to validate cost calculations of Sheet Metal & Plastic parts Expertise in calculation methodology of Built to Print & Proprietary nature parts Very much updated market knowledge on RM rates, grades and suppliers. Good knowledge of in-house / supplier assembly process, MHR, cycle time estimation and testing requirements. Should have a knowledge in tool / fixture cost estimation. Should be cost conscious and have the drive for VAVE ideas generation.
