Job Description

As the Director of the Department of Student Support Services at our private university, you will play a crucial role in creating a student-centric environment that enhances the academic, emotional, and social well-being of our students. Your primary responsibility will be to lead and oversee all student support initiatives to promote student success, engagement, and retention while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and standards. **Roles and Responsibilities:** - **Leadership and Strategy:** - Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for student support services aligned with the university's vision and mission. - Lead and manage the department to ensure the effective delivery of services and programs. - Monitor and assess the effectiveness of support services and implement improvements. - **Student Welfare and Engagement:** - Oversee programs addressing mental health, career counseling, mentorship, and life skills development. - Ensure the availability of resources and support for students facing personal, academic, or financial challenges. - Promote diversity, inclusion, and a safe campus environment by addressing student grievances and fostering community well-being. - **Academic Support:** - Coordinate with academic departments to provide tutoring, learning assistance, and workshops to enhance academic performance. - Facilitate the development of support services for differently-abled students and those with special needs. - **Career Development:** - Collaborate with the Career Services Office to provide career guidance, internships, and job placement opportunities. - Organize skill-building and professional development programs tailored to student needs. - **Counseling and Mental Health Services:** - Supervise the counseling and mental health team to provide timely and effective support to students. - Design awareness programs addressing mental health, stress management, and emotional resilience. - **Collaboration and Partnerships:** - Build relationships with external organizations, agencies, and alumni to enhance student resources and support networks. - Work closely with faculty, administrators, and parents to ensure a cohesive support system for students. - **Administrative and Compliance:** - Ensure compliance with university policies, UGC guidelines, and other regulatory frameworks. - Manage the department's budget, staffing, and operations to maintain efficiency and effectiveness. - Prepare and present reports on student support services, performance metrics, and outcomes to university leadership.
