Director of Engineering AI Infrastructure

Role Overview: You are being sought after as an exceptional engineering leader to lead the development and expansion of the next-generation AI infrastructure for one of our clients. Key Responsibilities: - Shape the core technical foundations that underpin the AI systems by partnering closely with the founding team - Architect high-performance systems, scale operations rapidly, and ensure technical excellence across the organization - Design and implement infrastructure supporting advanced AI development and contributing to the progress toward AGI - Play a pivotal role in scaling the engineering team from its early stages to 50+ engineers in the next few months and to 200+ within a year - Operate with significant autonomy while having access to necessary resources, mentorship, and leadership support to build a world-class engineering function - Collaborate closely with seasoned founders to drive technical innovation and organizational growth - Directly power the systems, infrastructure, and tooling that propel next-generation AI research and deployment - Work in a deeply technical and talent-dense environment, contributing to a culture defined by impact, ownership, and craftsmanship - Contribute to the collaborative growth of the company, with remote work options available for exceptional candidates Qualifications Required: - Proven experience in leading and scaling high-performing engineering teams - Strong background in technical leadership, system design, and architecture - Expertise in at least one major backend language such as TypeScript, Golang, Java, or Python - Experience in AI, ML, distributed systems, or high-performance infrastructure environments - Prior experience in building or leading India engineering teams is a strong advantage - Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-ownership, startup environments Company Details: The company is backed by world-class investors, offering a top-tier compensation package, including a highly competitive salary and meaningful equity.
