4. Key Responsibilities
A. Academic Leadership
- Provide vision and direction for the MBA programme in line with AICTE/UGC guidelines.
- Oversee curriculum planning, academic delivery, examination processes, and programme outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with outcome-based education (OBE), NEP 2020 framework, and academic quality benchmarks.
- Promote academic innovation, research, consultancy, and industry-driven learning.
- Ensure regular academic audits and adherence to Autonomous/University requirements (if applicable).
B. Administration & Governance
- Oversee daily operations of the MBA department, faculty deployment, and academic timetables.
- Lead academic committees, IQAC, NAAC/NBA accreditation activities.
- Ensure all processes follow
AICTE Approval Process Handbook (APH)
norms. - Maintain discipline, ethical standards, and effective administrative control.
- Oversee documentation, statutory records, MIS systems, feedback mechanisms.
C. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure 100% compliance with:
AICTE APH
UGC Regulations
- University statutes
- State Government norms
- DTE/PCI/Statutory body requirements (as applicable)
- Oversee approvals, EoA renewals, faculty qualifications, student-faculty ratio, and infrastructure norms.
D. Faculty Management & Development
- Recruit, mentor, and evaluate faculty as per AICTE norms.
- Conduct FDPs, workshops, and performance reviews.
- Promote high-quality teaching, research publication, case writing, and consultancy.
E. Student Management & Development
- Strengthen admissions, branding, and enrollment quality.
- Support student development through mentoring, internships, placements, and professional certifications.
- Enhance student engagement through clubs, events, entrepreneurship cell, and industry exposure.
F. Industry Collaboration & Partnerships
- Build strong relationships with industry leaders, corporates, and professional bodies.
- Drive MoUs for internships, live projects, guest sessions, and placements.
- Develop skill-based training modules aligned with industry needs.
G. Research, Consultancy & Institutional Growth
- Promote funded research, consultancy assignments, and collaborations.
- Encourage faculty and students to publish in Scopus/UGC Care journals.
- Drive institute ranking initiatives (NIRF, ARIIA, NAAC, NBA, ISO).
H. Financial & Operational Management
- Support budgeting, resource allocation, and cost optimisation.
- Oversee resource planning: infrastructure, labs, library, digital learning systems.
- Ensure transparent and efficient administrative processes.
5. Qualification & Experience (As per AICTE Norms)
Essential Qualification
PhD in Management
or allied discipline. - First Class in MBA or equivalent Master’s degree.
Experience (AICTE Norms for Director/Head of Institution)
Minimum 15 years of experience
in teaching/research/industry. - At least
5 years at the level of Professor
in an AICTE-approved institution or university. - Demonstrated leadership in academics, research, administration, or industry.
Desirable Qualifications
- Experience in accreditation (NAAC/NBA).
- Strong research output (publications, books, patents).
- Industry consultancy experience.
- Proven record of institutional development and academic leadership.
