Salary & Benefits

Key Responsibilities

  1. Patient Diet Management

    • Assess nutritional needs of inpatients and outpatients.
    • Prepare individual diet plans based on diagnosis (e.g., diabetic, renal, cardiac, cancer patients).
    • Modify diet as per doctors advice and patient progress.
    • Counsel patients and families regarding dietary habits.
  2. Hospital Food Service Supervision

    • Plan daily menus for hospital patients and staff canteen.
    • Ensure hygienic preparation, storage, and distribution of food.
    • Monitor portion control and food wastage.
    • Maintain food culture and dietary restrictions (e.g., vegetarian, religious needs).
  3. Monitoring & Evaluation

    • Conduct regular rounds in wards to ensure diet is being served as per chart.
    • Collect patient feedback on meals and take corrective action.
    • Keep records of diet charts, calorie intake, and nutrition reports.
  4. Training & Education

    • Educate nursing and kitchen staff about therapeutic diets and food safety.
    • Conduct awareness programs on nutrition, food culture, and hygiene.
  5. Quality & Compliance

    • Ensure compliance with hospital infection control policies and FSSAI guidelines.
    • Participate in quality audits related to dietetics and food safety.
    • Maintain proper documentation (diet charts, food culture reports, patient feedback).

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of clinical nutrition and therapeutic diets.
  • Strong communication and counseling skills.
  • Ability to plan menus balancing nutrition, culture, and taste.
  • Supervisory skills to manage kitchen and food service staff.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and FSSAI standards.

Qualification & Experience

  • Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Nutrition & Dietetics or Food & Nutrition.
  • Registered Dietician (preferred).
  • 1–3 years of hospital or clinical experience (freshers may be considered for junior roles).
