Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Die Maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed progressive stamping tools while ensuring adherence to quality standards. Key Responsibilities: Assemble high-speed progressive stamping tools. Work with ferrous and non-ferrous materials such as GI, Copper, Brass, Phosphorous Bronze, Spring Steel, and CRCA. Handle conventional machines like milling, lathe, and grinding. Perform die tweaking and on-machine die maintenance. Conduct bench maintenance of progressive dies. Utilize measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Apply knowledge of die steels and heat treatment. Read and interpret 2D and 3D drawings. Identify faults, breakdowns, and problem areas in press operations, ensuring minimal downtime. Evaluate die conditions and determine whether repairs can be done in-press or need removal for maintenance. Escalate activities that may cause harm or damage to tools. Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults, and concerns to management. Maintain high-quality standards and adhere to quality regulations. Identify spare requirements and maintain a log of tool usage. Develop and maintain performance of complex-specific tool suites. Support new project tooling from commissioning to production. Assist in tooling buyoffs and trials. Manufacture new tooling and spare parts to meet production deadlines. Document die history and work records. Perform planned preventative maintenance. Execute engineering-level changes to tools and modifications. Record all tooling data and update the Tool Room database. Participate in improvement activities to support departmental and company objectives. Manage cost and budget considerations for tooling. Follow 5S methodology to maintain a high-standard workplace. Ensure proper identification and use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Report lost time, minor, and trivial accidents. Stay updated with tooling and engineering trends. Participate in continuous training and development. Conduct root cause analysis and resolve issues efficiently. Skills & Competencies: Strong knowledge of die-making and tool maintenance. Hands-on experience with machining processes. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. Problem-solving and analytical skills. Knowledge of quality standards and safety regulations. Familiarity with 5S and lean manufacturing principles. Good communication and documentation skills.
