We proactively collaborate with our partners to create sustainable solutions in the Oleochemicals, Derivatives and Surfactants market. https://www.godrejchemicals.com/ About the role As a Finance Deputy General Manager, you will lead and manage critical financial operations, including budgeting, MIS reporting, product costing and cost audits. In this role, you will serve as the key financial analyst for our factories and play an essential part in ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency. You will oversee the factory budget, accounts payable, GST compliance and MIS for associate entities. Key Responsibilities : 1. Budgeting and planning: - Develop comprehensive factory budgets, including fixed expenses, variable expenses and capital expenses - Establish fixed and variable overhead rates - Prepare SBU-level budgets, ensuring alignment of fixed, variable and capital expenses - Formulate the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and long-range financial plans 2. Management Information Systems (MIS): - Generate detailed and accurate MIS reports: Sales reports Revenue recognition Budget vs. actual analysis (fixed and variable) Product-level contribution and profitability Company-level cost and profit summaries Reconciliation of raw material costs Cost and financial profit reconciliations Forecasting product-wise contributions and profitability for review meetings 3. Financial analysis: - Conduct in-depth contribution analysis by product, product group, customer, country, region and factory. - Break down the cost of production into raw materials, conversion costs, selling costs and administrative costs - Further analyse factory conversion costs, selling costs, and administrative expenses - Compare actual costs with established norms and targets - Collaborate on budget and target setting for the Annual Operating Plan - Track monthly targets and analyse variances from actual performance - Leverage SAP FI and CO modules for advanced financial analysis - Implement analytical tools to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities - Participate in special financial projects and ad-hoc analysis as required 4. Compliance and audits: - Prepare product cost details and coordinate cost audits, ensuring timely and accurate report filings - Compile and file NSS returns - Issue cost certificates and prepare quantitative data for tax audits - Organise financial audit schedules, including inventory, consumption and sales data 5. Factory finance leadership: - Lead the factory finance team in executing key financial operations - Oversee factory-level budget preparation, MIS reporting, and product costing - Manage accounts payable processes efficiently - Ensure compliance with indirect taxation (GST) requirements 6. Departmental support: - Verify financial results for accuracy and completeness - Provide annual report data, including export values, foreign currency details and R&D expenses Who are we looking for? Education : CA Qualified Experience : 8β10 years of relevant experience in finance, with a focus on factory finance, cost audits and financial planning Skills : Expertise in budget preparation and Annual Operating Plans (AOP) Strong knowledge of standard costing and variance analysis Proven ability to analyse costs and profits effectively Comprehensive understanding of product costing methodologies Proficiency in SAP FI and CO modules Ability to organise, synthesise and visualise data for clear, actionable insights Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Innovative and proactive problem-solving approach Strong business acumen and strategic thinking Whatβs in it for you?
