Overview of the Role This role demands a highly skilled professional who can design, build, and maintain a reliable, scalable, and secure infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in DevOps and SRE practices, with a strong foundation in automation, monitoring, and continuous delivery pipelines. Roles and Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain highly scalable, reliable, and secure Kubernetes infrastructure, both in on-premises data centers and in the cloud. Manage and optimize production of Kubernetes clusters in on-premise environments ; experience in cloud-based Kubernetes management is a plus. Implement and manage Istio service mesh for traffic control, security, and observability. Build robust CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins or equivalent tools to enable seamless code deployment. Package and deploy applications using Helm charts within Kubernetes environments. Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems using Prometheus and visualize data through Grafana. Administer and maintain Linux servers with a focus on performance, stability, and security. Automate infrastructure provisioning using Ansible and implement GitOps practices via ArgoCD. Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA) for production incidents and critical issues. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for tools, infrastructure, and processes. Stay current with evolving DevOps/SRE tools, methodologies, and industry trends. Mentor and lead a team of DevOps engineers to foster a culture of collaboration and operational excellence. Desired Skills / Background Minimum 10 years of total experience and min 5 yrs hands-on experience in DevOps or SRE roles. Proven leadership and team management experience in a DevOps/SRE environment. Deep understanding of Kubernetes architecture, with a strong focus on managing on-premise clusters. Solid experience with Istio, Helm, Jenkins, Prometheus, and Grafana. Expertise in Linux server administration, infrastructure automation (Ansible), and GitOps with ArgoCD. Familiarity with tools like Terraform, Vault, and scripting skills in Python or Bash. Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a collaborative mindset. Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP is a plus. Relevant certifications (e.g., Kubernetes Certified Administrator) are advantageous .
