We are seeking a skilled & proactive DevOps Engineer to manage our AWS IoT infrastructure, servers, & cost optimization. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with AWS IoT services, infrastructure automation, server management, & cost control. Position- DevOps Engineer AWS IoT Management Job Location- Mohali (Punjab)- Onsite Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with 2+years of experience in DevOps roles with a focus on AWS (Preferred AWS certification) Walnut Medical, a medical device, Payment Systems & connected Embedded Systems design development & manufacturing company, is headquartered in Mohali, Punjab, India. The company has production units in Mohali & in Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone, AMTZ Visakhapatnam, India. Walnut Medical specializes in manufacturing medical devices in the Respiratory, Over the Counter, Neurology/Neuro-Rehabilitation segments, including the world's most accurate Blood Pressure Monitors with proprietary technology. The product range includes Digital Blood Pressure Monitors, Thermometers, Nebulisers, Oxygen Concentrators, & more. Additionally, Walnut group has expanded into Point of Sale (POS) payment devices, focusing on digital payments. The company now plans to expand into Consumer electronics & automotive electronics & is looking for industry leaders to join it in the journey of making it a mainstream vertical. Role & responsibilities 1. AWS IoT Management: • Design, deploy & manage AWS IoT Core services & associated components. • Develop & maintain IoT device management policies, secure communication protocols, & data pipelines. • Monitor & troubleshoot IoT device connectivity & performance issues. 2. Infrastructure Automation: • Automate deployment pipelines for IoT services & infrastructure updates. • Ensure seamless integration of IoT services with other AWS components. 3. Server Management: • Oversee the setup, configuration, & maintenance of AWS EC2 instances, containers, & other compute resources. • Manage server scaling, patching, & security to ensure optimal performance & availability. • Monitor logs & system metrics for performance, security, & operational efficiency 4. Cost Optimization: • Analyze AWS usage & billing reports to identify cost-saving opportunities. • Implement cost-control strategies, including resource rightsizing, reserved instances, & autoscaling. • Regularly audit resources to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. 5. Security & Compliance: • Enforce security best practices, including IAM policies, encryption, & secure communication for IoT devices. • Conduct periodic security assessments to ensure compliance with organizational & regulatory standards. 6. Collaboration & Support: • Work closely with development, QA, & operations teams to align infrastructure with application needs. • Provide guidance & support during incident resolution & root cause analysis. • Document system configurations, processes, & best practices for team knowledge sharing. Required Skills & Qualifications: • 3+ years of experience in DevOps roles with a focus on AWS. • Proven expertise in managing AWS IoT Core & associated services. • Strong experience with IaC tools like Terraform, Cloud Formation, or CDK. • Hands on experience with AWS cost management & optimization techniques. • Able to analyse Cloud Watch logs Technical Skills: • Proficiency in Linux/Unix systems & scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell. • Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker & orchestration platforms like Kubernetes (EKS preferred). • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or AWS Code Pipeline. • Strong undersetting of networking concepts, DNS, VPCs, & firewalls in AWS. Soft Skills: • Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail. • Excellent communication & collaboration skills. • Ability to work independently & manage multiple priorities effectively. Preferred Qualifications: • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect. • Experience with AWS Billing & Cost Management tools. • Knowledge of MQTT protocols, IoT device firmware, or edge computing frameworks.
