Position Overview

The Consultant Developmental Paediatrician will be responsible for comprehensive evaluation, diagnosis, and management of children with developmental, behavioural, and learning challenges. This role blends early-intervention principles with tertiary pediatric standards, offering holistic, multidisciplinary, and family-centred care across outpatient and hospital-based settings.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment & Management

  • Conduct detailed developmental, behavioral, and psychosocial assessments for infants, children, and adolescents.
  • Diagnose and manage ASD, ADHD, global developmental delay, intellectual disability, speech-language delay, learning disorders, and cerebral palsyrelated developmental issues.
  • Seek and interpret medical, developmental, and psychological investigations as required.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment and intervention plans.

Multidisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, special educators, neurologists, psychiatrists, neonatologists, and other pediatric subspecialists.
  • Participate in team meetings, interdisciplinary discussions, and integrated care planning.
  • Provide inpatient consultations for children admitted with developmental or behavioral concerns (if required).

Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and complete electronic medical records.
  • Prepare developmental assessment summaries, therapy recommendations, and referral reports.

Education, Training & Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to developmental workshops, parent education sessions, and professional training events.

Qualifications

  • MBBS, MD (Paediatrics), and specialization in Developmental Paediatrics

    (fellowship/advanced training).
  • Valid medical license and eligibility for hospital credentialing.
  • Strong diagnostic skills, excellent communication, and a compassionate, family-centred approach.
  • Experience in early intervention or tertiary paediatric settings is preferred
  • Prior experience in developmental pediatrics is highly desirable
